Nashville officially brings in Kostitsyn

07/06/2010 - Nashville, TN (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Nashville Predators officially locked up restricted free-agent forward Sergei Kostitsyn on Tuesday.

The deal is worth $550,000 for the upcoming season.

Nashville acquired the embattled Kostitsyn from the Montreal Canadiens on June 29 in exchange for goaltender Dan Ellis and forward Dustin Boyd.

A native of Belarus, Kostitsyn notched seven goals and 18 points in 47 regular-season games with the Habs last year. Despite Montreal's surprise run to the Eastern Conference finals which included wins over top-seed Washington and defending Cup champion Pittsburgh, he failed to record a point in five playoff contests and was a healthy scratch for the remainder.

Over his three-year NHL career, all with Montreal, the 23-year-old has compiled 24 goals and 68 points in 155 games.
